Soledad Antelada Toledano: A Leading Voice in Cybersecurity

Soledad Antelada Toledano serves as a Security Advisor within the Google Cloud Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Public Sector. In this role, she engages with public sector clients, offering expert guidance on crucial security issues through leadership involvement, executive sponsorship, and advocacy. With a notable background in cybersecurity, Soledad has previously held a significant role as Deputy CISO for the Harris for President campaign, delivering high-level security strategies at the national level.
Before her tenure at Google, Soledad contributed several years at the Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, a renowned research institution. She made history by being the first female member of the Cybersecurity department in a Security Engineering position. Her work as Head of Security for the ACM/IEEE Supercomputing Conference is particularly notable, where she managed the security and network architecture of SCinet, the fastest research network globally.
Soledad is also the founder of GirlsCanHack, an initiative aimed at empowering women in the field of cybersecurity. Her efforts in this arena were acknowledged when she was named one of the 20 Most Influential Latinos in Technology in America in 2016. She has a passion for discussing the transformation of cybersecurity and the role of artificial intelligence within the sector, backed by extensive experience from her work with high-speed networks and large-scale event security.
A published author as well, Soledad’s upcoming book, titled “Critical Infrastructure Security: Cybersecurity Lessons Learned from Real-World Breaches,” is scheduled for release in 2024. In her writings, she draws on her unique insights gained from her roles in both network security and research environments.
