Google has initiated the rollout of its monthly security updates for Android, addressing 33 newly identified vulnerabilities, nine of which are classified as critical. Among the critical vulnerabilities, three reside within Android’s Media framework. The most severe could enable a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on a targeted device if they successfully persuade users to open a specially crafted malicious file. In addition to the critical issues, the remaining vulnerabilities include risks associated with Android Library and the System. Notably, two critical vulnerabilities affect Qualcomm’s components, one within DSP_Services and another within the Kernel, while three are linked to Qualcomm’s closed-source elements. Moreover, a high-severity flaw (CVE-2019-2104) in the Android Framework could allow malicious apps to bypass user interaction requirements, granting them access to additional permissions without consent.
The advisory further details six high-severity vulnerabilities in Qualcomm components, specifically affecting WLAN Host, WLAN Driver, HLOS, and Audio components. Importantly, none of the vulnerabilities addressed in this update have been publicly disclosed or identified as being exploited in the wild, indicating proactive measures by Google to mitigate risks before they can be attacked.

Users of Pixel smartphones are set to receive these July updates imminently, while other Android device users will depend on their respective manufacturers or service providers for the implementation of these vital security patches.
