SecurityBridge has appointed Jesper Zerlang, former CEO of Logpoint, as its new chief executive. His mission is to oversee the scaling of the company’s operations in the SAP security sector on a global scale.

Headquartered in Ingolstadt, Germany, SecurityBridge is positioning itself for growth, particularly within the U.S. market, which boasts a higher level of cybersecurity maturity but presents challenges due to a lack of brand recognition. Zerlang takes the reins from co-founder Christoph Nagy, who has been the CEO since the company’s inception in 2012 and will now serve as a board member.

Zerlang emphasized the importance of transitioning from an entrepreneurial mindset to broader global growth, which he views as essential over the next four years. He believes that allowing the founders to focus on product evangelism will help drive the company’s vision in the SAP security landscape.

Having first engaged with SecurityBridge in March 2024 as a senior advisor, Zerlang transitioned to chairman of the board in January 2025. With over 14 years as CEO at Logpoint, he exited after the company was acquired by Swedish fund Summa Equity. His prior interest in acquiring SecurityBridge led him to develop a strong rapport with the company’s co-founders.

Zerlang aims to leverage his extensive experience scaling businesses to facilitate rapid growth at SecurityBridge. He shared his insights on overcoming challenges of expansion, stating, “I have a broad background that involves growing a company from a small team into a substantial organization, and this experience equips me well for the role.” His focus will be on maturing internal processes to better align with enterprise demands.

SecurityBridge’s Strategic Focus on Geography and Vertical Markets

Unlike other cybersecurity solutions that require external SIEM integration for log management, Zerlang points out the inefficiencies of such approaches, particularly for SAP environments. SecurityBridge aims to provide deeper security analytics embedded directly within the SAP stack, allowing for real-time insights and actionable intelligence.

Recognizing the existing strengths in Europe, Zerlang has identified the U.S. market as a critical area for expansion, advocating for the establishment of robust sales and marketing efforts to enhance brand awareness. He commented, “The immediate goal is to solidify our sales and support framework in the U.S., something I’ve successfully accomplished in previous roles.”

SecurityBridge is narrowing its industry focus to sectors such as manufacturing, critical infrastructure, and pharmaceuticals—industries that heavily invest in SAP systems and face stringent regulatory requirements. This strategic shift excludes financial services, insurance, and government sectors initially, due to complex procurement processes and regulatory challenges.

Zerlang clarified that while they prioritize these verticals for growth, other sectors may be considered in the future. “Our focus will remain on sectors like pharmaceuticals and critical infrastructure where operational pressures demand immediate attention to cybersecurity,” he explained.
