A recent analysis of video footage connected to the death of Jeffrey Epstein has revealed significant edits in two provided clips, labeled “2025-05-22 16-35-21.mp4” and “2025-05-22 21-12-48.mp4.” The first clip, which originally runs for 4 hours, 19 minutes, and 16 seconds, has been truncated to 4 hours, 16 minutes, and 23.368 seconds in the released version. This indicates that nearly 2 minutes and 53 seconds of video were removed, with the cut occurring milliseconds before a one-minute gap confirmed by Bondi as a surveillance system anomaly. The second clip seamlessly follows, capturing the footage from 12:00:00 am to 6:40:00 am.
The analysis was sourced anonymously by a researcher and subsequently verified by two independent video experts, each possessing over 15 years of experience. Their confirmation asserted that the editing indeed happened right before the missing minute mark, further corroborating that approximately three minutes of footage were removed from the original clip.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released both raw and enhanced versions of the surveillance footage, which include internal comment markers—a feature typically utilized in editing software. The enhanced clip, designated Video 2 by the FBI, marks 15 instances of apparent movement near “46 door” at New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC). This area is situated close to Epstein’s cell, where he was detained awaiting trial for sex trafficking offenses. Notably, while these markers hint at activity of interest, the analysts left out the original commentary explanations.
According to a recent report from the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG), only two cameras were operational in the vicinity of the Special Housing Unit (SHU) during the timeframe of Epstein’s death. The report details that the recording camera captured a substantial portion of the SHU common area and stairways leading to various tiers, including the tier housing Epstein’s cell.
The OIG report further critiques the MCC’s surveillance system as being outdated and poorly maintained at the time of Epstein’s demise. Issues with the digital video recording (DVR) hard drives, which frequently malfunctioned, were also highlighted, raising concerns about their reliability.
Both the OIG report and a DOJ-FBI memorandum assert that any individual entering or attempting to access the tier containing Epstein’s cell on August 9 or 10, 2019, would have been recorded by the active camera. However, the camera did not capture the view of Epstein’s cell door directly, and the stairway leading to his tier was partially obstructed, complicating visibility in the footage. A second camera was also operating, covering the ninth-floor fire exit and two of the floor’s elevators.
In the wake of public scrutiny, President Donald Trump defended Attorney General Pam Bondi, asserting her effectiveness in her role amidst the ongoing investigation. “We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD,” Trump stated, emphasizing a unified front among his supporters.
