Infosys Expands Cybersecurity Portfolio with Acquisition of Australian Firm

Infosys to Buy the Missing Link in $63M Cyberservices Deal

Indian multinational Infosys has announced the acquisition of The Missing Link, an Australian cybersecurity firm, for $63 million. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing Infosys’ capabilities in red and blue team operations, managed cybersecurity services, and risk management.

The integration of The Missing Link is expected to bolster Infosys’ cloud security offerings and facilitate the incorporation of advisory services alongside a global security operations center. With this acquisition, Infosys also aims to solidify its footprint in Australia’s rapidly expanding cybersecurity market.

Satish HC, Executive Vice President and Chief Delivery Officer at Infosys, commented on the acquisition, stating, “In today’s landscape, technology-led transformation and enterprise security are paramount for global organizations. Our collaboration with The Missing Link, paired with our Infosys Cobalt cloud solutions, promises to deliver enhanced value through specialized end-to-end cybersecurity services.”

Founded in 1997 and led by CEO Alex Gambotto, The Missing Link boasts over 200 employees. The firm has developed a reputation for collaborating with leading enterprises to create robust cybersecurity frameworks that are customized for complex organizational needs. Its revenue has notably increased from $19.3 million in fiscal 2022 to $27.6 million in fiscal 2024, indicative of growing market demand.

The acquisition involves a $63 million deal that includes performance-based incentives but excludes management bonuses, indicating a focus on post-acquisition performance. Regulatory approval has already been granted by Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board, and closing is anticipated by the end of June 2025.

The Missing Link’s Value Proposition

The Missing Link brings to Infosys a dedicated team of red and blue team specialists who are skilled at simulating real-world cyber threats and developing strong defensive mechanisms. Their consultancy services cover the entire cybersecurity lifecycle, from prevention and detection to response and compliance.

As The Missing Link integrates into Infosys, both companies foresee the development of joint capabilities in cloud security, AI-driven threat detection, and enhanced cyber resilience. This partnership is set to strengthen Infosys’ existing service portfolio, providing clients with improved protection against cyber threats, safeguarding critical infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with increasingly complex regulations.

Utilizing proprietary tools and accelerators, The Missing Link enables effective threat detection and scalable protection across enterprise systems. By aligning its methodologies of automation and AI with Infosys’ digital transformation strategy, this acquisition not only positions both entities for growth but also aims to enhance the overall cybersecurity posture for their clientele.
