Anselmo Marmonti Appointed Vice President of Risk, Fraud, and Compliance Solutions at SAS

Anselmo Marmonti has been appointed as the Vice President for Risk, Fraud, and Compliance Solutions at SAS, where he will spearhead global initiatives and go-to-market strategies within the financial services sector.

In his new role, Marmonti and his team are dedicated to enhancing the operational efficiency of financial institutions and regulatory bodies. Their focus lies in streamlining processes related to risk management, fraud detection, and compliance through sophisticated, analytics-driven solutions. By concentrating on both the operational needs of businesses and their regulatory obligations, Marmonti is positioned to drive innovation in risk management practices, leveraging his vast experience gained from collaboration with international financial groups.

Prior to his current role, Marmonti managed global efforts in the Risk and Finance practice. His responsibilities centered on transformational initiatives aimed at optimizing credit processes and refining the lifecycle of risk models, alongside implementing compliance measures for IFRS 9, IFRS 17, and various asset liability management strategies. His expertise extends to integrated balance sheet management as well as conducting stress testing and strategic planning for banks and insurance companies.

Anselmo Marmonti holds a degree in Economics of Financial Institutions and Markets from Bocconi University in Milan. His academic foundation was complemented by his certification as a professional in financial risk management by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Moreover, he contributes to academia as a board member of the Master in Credit Risk Management program at Catholic University in Milan and has co-authored a pivotal book on Retail Credit Risk Management.

Since joining SAS in 2001, Marmonti has served as a consulting expert in various areas, including credit, market, and operational risk for leading banks and insurance organizations worldwide. His notable leadership role in the South EMEA Risk Solutions Practice involved ensuring compliance with significant regulatory frameworks, including Basel III, Solvency II, and the BCBS 239 guidelines.
