Former CSO Brings Extensive Experience in Cybersecurity Leadership
Tim Grieveson has joined Bitsight as their Senior Vice President and Global Cyber Security Risk Advisor, where he will leverage his extensive experience in cybersecurity to aid organizations in redefining how they assess and manage their cybersecurity posture and associated risks. His diverse background includes significant roles as a Chief Security Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and Chief Information Officer, alongside other senior technology leadership positions.
A distinguished figure in the UK cybersecurity landscape, Grieveson was recognized as one of the Top 30 Security Professionals by CSO30. His career spans over 25 years in technology leadership and includes 18 years dedicated to information security, earning him a reputation as a market thought leader in cybersecurity and risk management.
Before his tenure at Bitsight, Grieveson held the position of Chief Security Officer and Senior Vice President of Information Security at AVEVA, a major player in the global software development sector, now part of Schneider Electric. In that role, he was responsible for a comprehensive suite of security measures, including cyber and physical security, crisis management, and risk strategy, impacting operations on a global scale.
Grieveson holds the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) credential and has successfully managed strategic initiatives with annual budgets reaching £58 million. He has a proven track record of building and leading diverse teams, scaling from 20 to over 400 personnel across various regions.
Recognized for his inspirational leadership, Grieveson is often referred to as a “Chief Story-telling Officer.” He actively engages as a keynote speaker, blogger, and social media influencer, emphasizing the importance of viewing cybersecurity as a business enabler rather than a mere IT expense. His insights aim to assist enterprises in their fight against cyber threats while promoting proactive security measures that align with corporate goals.
Grieveson holds multiple certifications in cybersecurity and actively participates in the global information security community.
