CEO Hitesh Sheth: Enhanced AI Solutions Elevate Efficiency and Meet Contemporary Network Demands

Vectra has embedded artificial intelligence deeply into its platform, allowing it to perform tasks typically handled by human security analysts, according to CEO Hitesh Sheth. This strategic integration aims to enhance the company’s response capabilities against modern cybersecurity threats.

Sheth outlines that Vectra’s AI systems are adept at analyzing incoming cybersecurity signals, correlating disparate data points to derive contextual insights, and highlighting critical threats or compromised assets. He emphasizes that this AI-driven approach allows businesses to significantly improve the efficiency of Security Operations Centers (SOCs) by as much as 77%. This substantial increase not only expedites threat detection but also alleviates the burden on security personnel.

Reflecting on the demands placed on analysts, Sheth notes the overwhelming volume of signals they must interpret. “The question becomes, how do you make sense of that signal?” He asserts that agentic AI proves invaluable in this context, particularly in triaging and integrating relevant signals to bolster workflow effectiveness.

In an interview with Information Security Media Group, Sheth elaborated on several critical topics, including the driving forces behind the growing enterprise demand for comprehensive telemetry and inherent capabilities. He also addressed challenges linked to lift-and-shift and platform-as-a-service scenarios involving Microsoft Azure. Additionally, concerns have been voiced by Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) regarding the adoption of unmanaged AI tools within organizations.

Before joining Vectra AI in 2012, Sheth was the Chief Operating Officer at Aruba Networks for three years. His experience also includes an executive role at Juniper Networks, where he led its switching business unit and held senior positions focusing on security technologies. Sheth’s background is further enriched by his seven-year tenure at Cisco in various senior management roles.
